Computer Assembly Tutorial: Gathering Supplies
Before we start unpacking, ensure you have the proper tools for assembly:
- Phillips (full) head screwdriver
- Anti-Static wrist band (optional, but recommended since it’s only $6)
- Needle nose pliers (for placing screws and retrieving any screws you might drop)
When you receive any parts from any order you’ve placed online, the first thing to do is to make sure everything’s there, and everything is what you ordered. I referenced the components I received against the invoice I printed from my order. In this case, make sure everything’s present:
- Case
- Motherboard
- Processor
- RAM
- Hard Drive
- Optical Drive
- Operating System
Out of the box, everything should look similar to this:
